Derek Kilmer serves as the United States Representative of Washington’s 6th Congressional District.
There is going to be a new VA Clinic in Bremerton. The new location at 4205 Kitsap Way is less than a half-mile from the existing clinic at 925 Adele Ave., which opened in 2001. The new clinic is in the Oyster Bay Shopping Center, previously anchored by the closed QFC grocery. The new site will have an eventual capacity of more than 6,000 patients. Kilmer sent a letter to VA Secretary Robert McDonald last month asking for help speeding up the process. For more than three years, the VA had squandered precious time and resources in its effort to find a new location, he said. “Unfortunately, the Veterans Administration has failed to met its obligations in a timely fashion and my constituents are left dealing with the consequences,” he wrote.
